History
In 1908, on the Sant Pere Més Baix street de Barcelona, a group of friends interested in dance in general and specifically for these of our country, Catalonia, they wrote and signed the Statutes of a new entity called Esbart Català de Dansaires. 1993 - 2009
Towards the new century
In 1993, the post-Olympic year is a year of great activity for the Esbart Català de Dansaires with an annual cycle that follows the structure in recent years, but also includes some new features that will make this time so accused which runs parallel to the new era after the Olympic Games held in the capital of Catalonia.
It should be pointed up the establishing a good relationship with the city administration, which had already been realised with the district Ciutat Vella, now expands through the l’Institut Municipal Barcelona Espectacles that later will become in the Department of Celebrations, a relationship that stems from the fact that a project of the Esbart Català de Dansaires received the prize Fes-te Tu la Mercè.
At same time, in the Catalan Folk Dancers substantial changes occur regarding responsibility musical and choreographic of the entity. All of this makes begin to conceive of a new stage of the long history of Esbart Català de Dansaires
